Dermal fillers are natural substances that a professional dermatologist injects into the skin to correct a variety of skin issues, like fine lines and wrinkles. They are intended to support and correct the underlying facial structures and rejuvenate the patient’s appearance. As we age our face changes in many ways.

The underlying bony facial structure changes and we develop bone and fat loss in certain areas of the face which in turn results in an aged appearance. Because we no longer have the fat plumping out the tissues, the skin begins to droop leading to the development of jowls and a tired sunken face.

Dermal fillers are a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure which can help fight the results of age-induced skin changes.

At Skinnovation Laser Clinic, we employ only certified professionals and use only first-class dermal fillers to ensure the most natural-looking results possible, and effects that will last. Whatever your circumstances or concerns, we offer a free consultation for every client to individually assess your needs and to determine the best treatment plan for maximum results.

About the Procedure

Dermal fillers are injected with a fine needle, almost anywhere on the face where you wish to restore the volume you lost with age or where you want to fill the lines which appeared over the years. Based on your specific facial features, at Skinnovation Laser Clinic, we can inject dermal fillers in your lips, lip lines, temples, marionette lines, cheeks, nasolabial folds, and even your jawline.

This rejuvenation method is widely praised for the fact that it provides quick and effective results. Dermal Fillers are completely safe and, as the fillers contain a local anesthetic, it is relatively painless. Based on the patient’s specific needs, we can also utilise ice or topical anesthetic to further numb the area.

Recovery Period and Results

The recovery period from dermal fillers is minimal, as it is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that is almost completely pain-free. It is possible for some patients to notice slight swelling and redness around the treated area that usually fades quickly. If you suffer from certain allergies, be sure to tell us prior to the treatment. As fillers are made from sugar that naturally occurs in our skin matrix, allergic reactions are quite rare but possible.

Depending on the particular type of dermal fillers, the results vary, but will last between six months to two years depending on the area treated and filler used.

For long-term results, patients should schedule multiple treatments. How often you can undertake the treatment depends on several factors, including your specific needs, type of fillers used, the length of the results, and so on.

To get the details for your specific case, get in touch with Skinnovation Laser Clinic and arrange to meet with one of our specialists. We have years of experience helping patients correct some of the concerns they’ve expressed. Once we take a look at your face and the features you would like to improve, we will be able to give you more information on the type of dermal fillers we’ll need to use, in which areas, and provide an estimate on what kind of results you can expect.

  1. Which areas can be filled?

Fillers can be used almost anywhere in the face to correct volume loss and fill lines. This includes cheeks, temples, lips, lip lines, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and jawline. Filler can also be used in the hands.

  2. How long does it last?

This depends on which filler is used. Generally, the filler can last anywhere between 6 months- 2 years. For example on larger areas such as the cheeks, a highly robust filler is used which lasts about 2 years whereas a lighter filler for an area such as the lips will last approximately 6-9 months.

  3. Will it be painful?

The filler contains a local anesthetic so after the first few injections is relatively painless. Ice or topical anesthetic can also be used if the patient wishes. A dental block can also be used when treating the lips. This makes the whole mouth completely numb.

  4. Is it safe?

Yes. The filler is made from a sugar that naturally occurs in the matrix of our skin. It is this sugar that gives our skin its volume. An allergic reaction is extremely rare.

  5. What are the other side effects?

As with any medical treatment there are some general side effects -bruising, swelling, redness and infection may occur. Very rare is necrosis of the skin, migration of the product to another area. Lumps may be felt under the skin however these usually resolve within a week or two after the filler has settled.
